I was born and raised in New Delhi, India, and studied fine art at the College of Art, University of Delhi. I had always been interested in Printmaking and studied with John Paul Jones at UCI for three years after moving to California. I have been creating original fine prints since 1982. I have shown extensively throughout in exhibitions including the Laguna Art Museum. I have demonstrated my techniques at Colleges and have served as past President of LAPS (the Los Angeles Printmaking Society).
My collagraphs are created with multiple printings for subtle texture, varied depths, rich colors and tonal vibrancy. I have combined my inked collagraph plates with “chine colle’” in which I place colored papers cut or torn into proper position on my inked plate and then print the paper and the image together. Each work of art is original and one-of-a-kind.
